Guided Activities near Musina
Come and join us for some breathtaking guided activities on Thaba Bolayi Reserve, near Musina and Mapungubwe. Thaba Bolayi and the surrounding areas have a famously beautiful bushveld. Leaving our guests in complete admiration of nature’s beauty and what they explain as the most peaceful silence that captures you. Thaba Bolayi’s grounds is a foundation for more than 200 baobab trees and huge granite outcrops. This makes it an ideal place for nature and landscape photography. There are several animal species that roam the grounds and we have a wide range of bird life in the Greater Mapungbwe area.
The area stretching from Thaba Bolayi’s grounds all the way to Mapungubwe Nature Reserve has a rich and newly discovered history of the Monomotapa Kingdom. This archeology is still being studied. More information is coming to life giving a new unknown insight of what southern Africa looked like in the past.
Dakani Adventures offers a wide variety of activities which gives insight into the areas history and allow our guests to interact with nature and create moments that hopefully get cherished.
Nature drives
Dakani Adventures offers a variety of guided drives in open safari vehicle. The drives range from 2 to 3 hours and allows for a few stops for our guests to interact with nature and see some of our most amazing views.
- Sunrise drive: This is our early morning, 5am, drive. Heading to Leopard Rock where we enjoy a coffee or tea and watch the sun rise and hear the bushveld come to life as a new day greets us.
- Sunset drive: This is our most popular drive in the late afternoon making rounds at the watering holes and a few baobabs. The drive take you to Paul Kruger Hill where we experience the amazing bushveld sunset.
- Night drive: This is for our guests wanting to see some night time explorers such as the brown hyena, african civet cat, the springhaas (south african springhare) or if you are very lucky a leopard.
- Baobab drive: The baobab drive is a focused drive for people to explore our beautiful baobabs on the property. We visit baobabs with great historic significance to the Monomotapa Kingdom. This drive will also create great photography opportunities.
Guided walks
Nature walks are great for personal and up close interaction with the bushveld. Through the walks you get to experience a lot more detail of nature and see a lot of the smaller animals such as lizard, amphibians, gnawing mammals and birds. We also get to walk in the parts less travelled which gives a sence of untouched beauty.
- Baobab bush walk: This is a 7.5km walk exploring our most impresive baobab trees on Thaba Bolayi Nature Reserve.
- Morning bush walk: This is a 5.3km bush walk taking you through our dry river bed and to some of our gorgeous geological features.
