Welcome to South-Africa. Finally you are here for your amazing adventure! Now you can start to relax and leave all the stressful things to us.
Arrive at OR Tambo International airport. You will be met with a meet and greet at the airport arrivals hall. Your first night in South-Africa will be at a cozy guesthouse close to the airport. A good nights sleep is very important. The next day you will depart on your retreat to the untouched bushveld.
After breakfast we leave for the far north of South-Africa. The untouched bushveld of Limpopo. This is quite a long journey, but most definitely worth it. We will have two stops along the way. Just imagine, tonight you are sitting in the African bush! After the long journey you will have time to relax at the Lodge. Dinner is served in the evening. Listen to the bushveld sounds as the sun sets. Tomorrow the relaxation starts.
Be sure to get up early for your first sunrise in the bushveld. Nothing can compare. Today is a day for rejuvenation. Breakfast is served at the lodge restaurant.
After breakfast we start with a full spa day at Maulwe Spa. An incredible full body massage. Sauna session. Invigorating cold jacuzzi session. After the spa day you are sure to be at peace. Body, mind and soul. A light lunch is served during the spa day. Dinner is served the evening at the Lodge restaurant.
Breakfast is served at the Lodge restaurant. After breakfast you take a nature and cultural drive in an open safari vehicle. Just think, Baobabs all around. The magic of these trees will leave you breathless. Oldest living organisms in the bush and you get to feel their energy. Stories of an ancient civilisations which occupied the same area as you are doing your safari. Incredible! The beauty will leave you breathless. We take a break to relax in the middle of the day after a morning in the bush. Later the afternoon we go with the open safari vehicle for a sundowner drive. We all say goodbye to the day while standing on top of one of the massive granite outcrops. High above the surrounding bushveld. Seeing even the lights going on in Zimbabwe. Awesome! What a day!
We will explore the park and among other things visit the site of the old lost kingdom of Mapungubwe. We will also visit the Limpopo River that divides the park with the parks in Botswana and Zimbabwe. Great chance of very large herds of Elephants. The views of this primeval African environment are a feast for the eyes. Completely Out of Africa. Coffee and tea will be provided. Snacks and light meals will also be provided during the day. If you feel like it, you can visit the Mapungubwe museum. If you have the time, do not skip it. Very interesting to discover the ancient history of Africa at the time when we as Europeans were still in the dark Middle Ages. At that time, trade was already conducted here with the East and parts of Asia. Stunning landscapes, ancient civilisations and wildlife is the goal of this day.
Breakfast is served at the Lodge restaurant. During the morning and middle of the day you have free time to explore the lodge area. Do some of the walking trails on the reserve. Visit the cultural information centre and bird hide. Visit the geological information centre. Some amazing rocks to see. All in all there is something for everyone to do. Just a relaxing morning.
This afternoon we depart on the greatest adventure on Thaba Bolayi Reserve. The Leopard Rock sunset braai! Even the name sparks excitement. We take a drive in the open safari vehicle to one of the granite outcrops on the reserve. Leopard Rock. There is even a Baobab on top of the rock. Incredible! Here we sit and watch the sun set over the bushveld. Listening to all of the beautiful nature sounds. While a delicious meal is prepared on the traditional South-African open fire. Nothing can beat this feeling! As the sun sets the stars reveal themselves above you. The Milky Way. Clearer than you have ever seen it. What a way to spend your last night on safari.
Just like that your last day in Africa has arrived. Be sure to see the last bushveld sunrise. You will cherish it forever. After breakfast at the Lodge restaurant we depart back to OR Tambo airport. While we drive you think of all the amazing experiences you had in the bushveld. All the memories that will remain forever. Africa will stay in your heart. Until we meet again!
