Itinerary
We will pick you up from the airport in Johannesburg and take you to your first overnight stay where you can enjoy your first evening and night in South Africa.
This cozy guesthouse is close to the airport and the perfect place to recover. A good night's sleep is very important before you start your tour.
After all, you can arrive at the time you want with a flight of your choice that suits you best.
After a well-earned night's rest and a good hearty breakfast, you will set off and visit the most famous township in South Africa today; Soweto. (SOuth WEst TOwnship)
Here you will get to know the daily life of the local population in the morning and visit the Hector Pieterson Memorial and of course the apartheid museum.
After breakfast you will slowly depart towards the east of South Africa. The final destination of this day is a private game reserve bordering the south of the Kruger Park within walking distance of the National Park.
Only separated by the Crocodile River. Here you will stay for the coming nights in the middle of the bush and among the animals of Africa. You can hardly make a better start to your Safari adventure at the Kruger National Park.
Today is a relatively relaxed day so that you can get used to it a bit but above all enjoy life in the African bush. After a flight and a partial travel day, it is wonderful to relax in this dream environment with the animals of Africa within reach and around you.
With a bit of luck, a number of animals from Africa will visit you today when you are relaxing on the terrace.
In the afternoon, an open car safari awaits you and you will continue to explore the African bush and look for more animals of the Big 5. The ranger will pick you up and drop you off there neatly afterwards.
If you appreciate it, we can organize a barbecue and light the campfire. Enjoying the sounds of the bush by a crackling fire is an experience in itself.
It's going to happen. A full day in an open game drive vehicle through the Kruger National Park.
This is a long but oh so beautiful day. This is what it's all about. You will be picked up early in the morning and dropped off again at the end of the day.
Our experience is that after a day of spotting animals and hopefully the entire Big 5, there is a good chance that you will quickly disappear to your bed. Tired but satisfied, enjoying the most famous and largest game park in the world.
And for the tireless among us, we will light the campfire high to enjoy the African bush with the sounds of the animals in the background. There is a very good chance that you will hear the lions roar.
This day is very special and here your Safari dreams will absolutely come true. When you get back home you can shout from the rooftops with full conviction:
I WAS ON SAFARI IN THE KRUGER PARK OF SOUTH AFRICA!
Via the Panorama Route/Blyde River Canyon to Hoedspruit area. You will see the third largest canyon in the world with your own eyes.
People come from all over the world to see these wonders of nature. World-famous natural phenomena such as the three rondavels, Burckes Luck Potholes, Gods Window and waterfalls you will see today.
A phenomenally beautiful day and one of the many highlights of this tour.
Visit a wildlife rehabilitation center that really matters. Wild animals that have gotten into trouble due to human causes are patched up here to be able to return to the wild.
Very educational and something you should not miss in Africa.
Note: (If day 7 falls on a Sunday, this visit will be done on day 6 and the panorama route on day 7).
Through the inland with many different landscapes you will go on your way to the Indian Ocean. Because it is a tough ride you will make a stopover with an overnight stay in Piet Retief.
Farming history comes to life here. We will make a stop at the Samosa lady and what this entails will remain a surprise..
Beautiful day!
In the afternoon you will arrive at the Indian Ocean and St Lucia. Isimangaliso is known as described by the Unesco World Heritage as the only untouched swamp and mangrove area in Africa.
Beautifully situated on the Elephant Coast of South Africa. St Lucia is completely surrounded by water. On one side the Ocean, on the other side Lake St Lucia.
The only access road is via a bridge over Lake St Lucia and who knows, you might see the hippos from the bridge. (Look around carefully because the hippos here in the evening and at night just walk through the street through the village, very special)
Boat trip Lake St Lucia. After a bit of a lie-in and a delicious breakfast, you will take a boat trip on Lake St Lucia today.
You will be amazed at how different the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park is from the bush where you stayed the days before. At St Lucia and in Lake St Lucia you will find the largest hippo colony in all of Africa.
More than 800 hippos live here in 1 habitat, together with just as many crocodiles. The boat trip will take you along the old mangroves and you will see many other animals besides hippos and crocodiles.
With a bit of luck you can even see the African fish eagle up close.
You don't get up too late and take a tour through the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park via the entrance gate in the village.
You also go to Cape Vidal, located in the middle of the wetlands park, one of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Africa. With a bit of luck you will see elephants on the beach and whales off the coast. How great is that!
The part we are going to visit is the dune area. Here you will find the highest and widest dune area in Africa. You will also have plenty of time to enjoy the beach on the Indian Ocean, Cape Vidal. You can also enjoy a small picnic here at Cape Vidal and see the power of the mighty Indian Ocean.
There are only a few places in Africa where Samango Monkeys can be found and Cape Vidal is one of them. Seeing these monkeys is always a feast for the eyes.
The beach is hundreds of kilometers long and in theory you could walk to Mozambique on the beach. (200 kilometers further north)
Today you leave St Lucia and the wetlands at the Ocean and we go along the coast to Durban and then we go inland.
This travel day takes you to the Royal Natal National Park and the highlands of South Africa. Here are the highest mountains of South Africa up to 3000 meters high.
The view of the Amphib Theater is phenomenal. You will also spend the night nearby. Royal Natal NP is in the border area with Lesotho.
We are going to make a very beautiful trip through the highlands. We are going to the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. This trip takes you through a landscape that you cannot find anywhere else in Africa. Very high and very special, it is somewhat reminiscent of a moonscape.
Many animal species have adapted to this altitude and the views are spectacular. We drive straight through the National Park and make a stop for lunch in the village of Clarens where you can have a lovely lunch, relax a bit on the nice terraces.
And for the ladies among us. Wonderful shopping in the nice shops and boutiques that you can all find here…
Enjoy the peace, enjoy the view. Or (and) take a walk. Rest day in the middle of the Drakensberg. If you feel like it, you can take a walk in the Royal Natal National Park at the Amphibian Theatre to one of the many waterfalls.
You can also book a day trip in Lesotho if you feel like it when you are there. You can also visit Giant Castle if you feel like it.
We are going back from Bergville to Johannesburg Airport. Yes.. It is over… Today we will take you to the airport in Johannesburg where you will arrive around two o’clock in the afternoon. It is no different we say goodbye…
